#158 – Breaking and Building Silos

We can’t entirely avoid organizational silos. No matter if we have traditional departments or run Value Stream-aligned Agile Release Trains, both groups of people work closer with the people within their own organization than with those outside it.

We want to avoid people only caring about their own silo. By making the common, overarching vision, mission and objectives clear and relevant across silos, it’ll become easier for colleagues across silos to relate to the others’ needs and share the needed information or work with them—no matter which silo we’re in, we’re still part of the same organization and working towards the same high-level goals.
